How to Make the Most out of Your Doctor's Appointment
Pacific Family Practice understands that your time is important. We built a schedule that operates outside of the typical 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. routine that many family medical practices offer, with our urgent care center open as late as 9 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays.
Whether you schedule an appointment ahead of time or if you need to walk in, there are easy ways for you to make the most out of your doctor’s appointment so your time with our providers meets your expectations for high-quality care.
I need an appointment. What do I do?
Walk-ins are welcome at Pacific Family Practice, as we understand that not all medical concerns can be planned. However, if possible, we always appreciate when patients are able to make an appointment. Scheduling an appointment at PFP is easy, and you can do so by either calling (415) 876-5762 or by filling out a contact form online, found here.
I made an appointment. What’s next?
One of the best ways to save time during your visit with PFP is to fill out necessary forms in advance. We’ve made it easy for patients to fill out forms from the comfort of their own home, though you can always contact our staff to confirm that you have all the correct forms for your appointment.
My forms are ready to go. Do I need to bring anything else?
If you have questions or concerns that you’d like to discuss with your provider, we recommend writing down these points prior to the appointment. Often, we find that patients may forget a specific point and will either need to contact PFP again or take the time to attend a second appointment so their concerns can be properly addressed. Prepping your thoughts ahead of time is a great way to help set the appointment’s agenda so your needs are met.
What about in-between visits?
We understand that there are occasions in between checkups when you may need information from PFP. Our patients have access to the Brown & Toland patient portal, which offers patients secure communication with providers and PFP staff, around-the-clock access to your medical history and insurance information, your lab results, and the ability to request a prescription or refill. You can also book your next appointment via the patient portal.
